Drakensberg Boys Choir Concerts

Year round the Drakensberg Boys Choir performs concerts every Wednesday afternoon, but for one spectacular night of the year they also wow crowds with their Christmas in the Berg Noel spectacular. Be sure to book your tickets for the concert, which kicks off at 2pm on 8 December, soon as seats are limited and get ready for a joyous event to ring in the start of the Christmas season. The choir will present a festive repertoire of traditional classical carols that is sure to put you in the mood for the most magical time of the year.

Falcon Ridge Birds of Prey Centre

Every day at 10:30 the Falcon Ridge Birds of Prey Centre hosts daily bird shows (except Friday and Monday, weather permitting). Set to the spectacular mountain backdrop, the bird show is easily one of the best in the country, if not the world, showcasing various falcons, eagles and owls in flight. These birds are all rescue birds, undergoing rehabilitation or are unable to be re-released into the wild for various reasons.

Paddle Boating or Dam Cruise on Bell Park Dam

The Bell Park Dam is easily visible from Treks, Trips and Trails and just 1km away from our property, at Cayley Leap Adventures, there are various activities available for exploring this body of water. Hop and jump around on the inflatable obstacle course, take a leisurely trip around the dam in a paddle boat, rent a stand up paddle board, or relax on a cruise of the dam, while learning a bit more about the myriad of birdlife found here.

Dragon Rock Reptile & Nature Centre

Here, lovers of snakes, spiders, crocodiles, chameleons, tortoises, and lizards can get up close and personal with all their favourite scaly, slithering creatures. This educational reptile and nature centre is located the middle of the beautiful Champagne Castle area and offers tours to visitors aged 5 and up every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday out of season and every day, except Monday, in season.

Archery at Leap or JO-KER Adventure Centres

If you are looking to learn a new skill while on holiday in the Central Berg, JO-KER Adventures or Leap Adventures will introduce you to the sport of archery. Book a 30 minute or hour session and discover when it comes to bows and arrows, practice really does make perfect. Both centres also offer a variety of other activities to enjoy as a family including paintball and quad biking.

Hot Air Ballooning Trips

Hot air ballooning in the Drakensberg offers a breathtaking and unique perspective of our stunning landscape. Drifting peacefully above the majestic Drakensberg Mountains allows you to witness the dramatic peaks, lush valleys, and vibrant flora from a vantage point that few get to experience. As you soar through the sky, the changing colors of the sunrise add an extra layer of beauty to the already spectacular views. You can book this activity with both Hot Air Ballooning SA or Berg Ballooning.
